How To: King Pigeon Pose
Step by Step
- Begin in Downward facing Dog. Bring your left knee forward between your hands and come into Pigeon pose.
- Rest your left hand on your left knee and bend your right knee.
- Flex your right foot and bring your right hand under the top of your foot and try to grab onto your foot or toes.
- This is where it can get a little tricky. Flip your left elbow up to the ceiling, so the back of your foot is turned towards your back & your toes are pointing straight up. Fingers will be facing down. If this is not doable at this time, you can try working with a strap.
- From here, you can arch your head back and reach your left hand over your head to hold onto your left foot or toes. Bring your head even more back & if you can, touch your toes or foot onto you head.
- Stay here for at least 5-10 breaths and then release your hands and place your palms on either side of your right knee.
- Repeat on other side.
