Barre Class Playlist

Barre classes combine a mixture of strength training and stretch. To match both components, I find it essential that my music inspire adrenaline pumping excitement, and soothing, sinking, relaxation. During the toning portions of the class, I prefer songs with strong and fast beats. The stretch portion of class I include a mix of meditation, folk, and soul. Particular to my class you can guarantee that there will be a song or two…or three, coming from Latin America. I don’t know if it’s my years of Zumba instruction, or if I always had a propensity towards Latin music, but it will be in there.

I also love adding in some less known musicians because it creates an instant connection with students who happen to be fans of the artist as well.

Today, as you embark on a fresh adventure of life, remember that you have the power to shape the experience that you desire. Each and every moment gives you a decision to make: to focus on the positive, or to fall into fear. It all boils down to what you choose to direct your energy towards. Do you want to be happy? Would like to feel peace? You have the power to do so, right now. It’s not life’s events but rather our perspective that creates the stories that we live by. Choose to focus on the sunny side of life, and life will be just that: sunny and bright. What does the sunny side look like? It looks a lot like gratitude, contentment, trust, confidence, and happiness. Be silly, be you, and allow your inner light to cast a rainbow on any stormy situation. Don’t wait; start now!      Monday is a great day to start a new adventure. Today, as you venture out into the world, explore this new perspective: Every person you encounter has been on a hero’s journey of life. They have had their trials and tribulations; they have their joys and their fears, they have hopes and dreams, special talents and gifts… and just like you, they are trying their best to be happy. Look past the surface and see each soul as unique and beautiful, worthy of respect and worthy of your time. Know that you too, have a special story that has created your own take on life, your own thought-shaped world. Be open and courageous as you embrace the world you have created for yourself, and explore what you can learn from the stories and lives that have shaped the worldview of those around you. No two stories are the same; love the differences that give color to our world! Life is an epic voyage, and we are all in the same boat. :)
