Growing up my mom and I were very close, and happily remain so today. Due to our closeness, when I was a little girl I would be so sad whenever we were separated. Being such a thoughtful Mom, she came up with a lovely tradition of writing letters to each other for every day we were apart, whether it be a business trip, camp, or retreat. I remember sneaking the letters into her luggage before she left and sometimes I would wake up to a stack of letters from her, with clear directions to open each one on a certain day. These letters meant the world to me. Luckily, I have kept every letter from my Mom; rereading them today brought tears to my eyes...No matter the content of the letter, she never failed to mention her love and appreciation for me. Our letters taught me the invaluable importance of sharing love and words with one another. I am so grateful we created this unforgettable, loving tradition.
